Karen Coleman Plastiras was born and raised in Marin County and has been a licensed Realtor since 1990.  She follows in her family’s footsteps of over 60 years of Marin Realtors.  In 1938 her grandmother, Imogene Coleman, was a pioneer as broker/owner of “Marin County Realty” in Mill Valley with three different offices.  Her father continued the company until his death in 1998, and M.C.R. is still in the family with Karen’s husband now broker/owner.  Karen continues the family tradition of meeting and surpassing the needs of her clients:

  • She is a member of Top Producers and is continually in the top 5% of her company.
-As a former West Coast Director of Negotiations and Litigation for National and International  Insurance Companies (13 years), her negotiating skills are unsurpassed.
  • Recognized as the Realtor expert about Marin public and private schools, Karen is closely involved with Belvedere/ Tiburon school district, and is able to stay “hands-on” with the parents and PTAs of other schools.
  • As a Marin native, Karen knows the history, background, and diversity of all the small communities.  Why is this important?  A SELLER needs his Realtor to know all the special and relative aspects about his community so as to best represent his home to an inquiring prospect.  When her client is a transferring or relocating BUYER, Karen is uniquely able to help them discover the community that will best suit their needs.

In closing, Karen’s success can be attributed to her professional background, local knowledge, understanding and meeting the needs of her clients, and her own internal commitment to provide the best service and make the best possible deal… continuing the family tradition.

For her entire adult life, there was no stopping Colleen’s yearning for the fine art of real estate.

During these years, Colleen also gained extensive knowledge of the land development and construction aspect of the industry, having been actively involved in numerous subdivision projects and the construction of over 25 new homes.  She is accustomed to holding a key counseling position in taking an idea to fruition-be it selling, buying, remodeling or building a home.

Colleen has lived in Marin County for over 20 years and currently resides in Kentfield with her two teenagers.  She is a former Board Member and Past President of the Kentfield Schools Foundation, has served on the Construction Committee and currently serves on the Citizen’s Bond Oversight Committee of the Kentfield Schools District.
